Our Germanica Top 10 today is an interview with Kristine Beckerle on Owen Jones' YouTube channel about the genocide in Gaza.

Kristine is a journalist in Jordan who has extensively researched the criteria that have been consistently used in the past to define what constitutes genocide under international law. Those who commit genocide always claim that the law doesn't apply in their case.

The controversy surrounds the issue of whether or not genocide is happening if the destruction of a people on a systematic basis is not the only objective. In every instance of where genocide was committed there were other military objectives that coincided with that genocide.

Israel claims that it is not committing a genocide because it is pursuing the elimination of a terrorist group. Sorry Israel, you fit the pattern perfectly. There is always another motive that can be used as a fig leaf to cover for war crimes.
